Towards Better Tendering
Towards Better Tendering is a ‘must-attend’one-day training course for council staff with tendering responsibilities who could benefit from a succinct training program to enhance their work.

Seminar program includes governance, tendering stakeholders, structure and content of tenders and how best to manage the evaluation of tenders. Also included in the presentation is a session on determining best value for money and how to prepare evaluation reports.

At completion of the seminar delegates will:

• Understand/comprehend the range of people requiring tendering and their needs;
• Know how tender documents can be arranged so that suppliers find requests for tenders easier to respond to and incoming tenders easier to evaluate;
• Distinguish between effectiveness and risk of suppliers;
• Apply straightforward techniques for determining the most
appropriate supplier;
• Gain awareness of how technology can make the tendering process more efficient; and
• Understand the significance of probity and ethics.

The session will be facilitated by Colin Lange, a specialist consultant to local government who has worked extensively on large value tenders for local government across Australia.
